We are pleased to announce that we have agreed with Navimag, Chile to purchase the roro vessel Aurora. Aurora was built 1991 for Finnish owners under the name Ahtela.
Delivery will take place in January 2025 in Algeciras, Spain. We already have two representatives onboard for familiarization. We will keep the name Aurora and after delivery the vessel will be time-chartered to Peregar, Spain for their trade Algeciras-Ceuta. That is the same charterer and trade as Mistral did during spring and summer 2024.
The purchase will create work for about 25 seafarers.
The roro-market is strong and there are not that many roro vessels in this size available. We strongly believe there will be a future demand for roro vessels in the smaller size segment.
Aurora is a 3-deck roro vessel with a sideport designed for transport of trailers, mafis, cassettes, forest products and containers.
