On the 8th October 2009 the lookout on Misana sighted lights in the water outside Ferrol in Spain. The vessel navigated towards the lights and found a capzised fishing vessel. Due to high seas Misana could not save the distressed but called for assistance via coastal radio. After assistance from several fishing vessels and a helicopter six persons were rescued while one person was later found dead.
